Ballots will be mailed (via U.S. Mail) to members within ten (10) days after the close of nominations by the Election Committee.
• Those members who will not be at their mailing address during the period of the Election may make special arrangements with the Election Committee for special handling of their ballot.
• All ballots returned as undeliverable will be picked up by the Election Committee and the Committee will remail the ballots of those for whom new or proper addresses have been obtained.
• The ballots will be picked up at the Post Office on the day set for tallying by the Election Committee and taken to the Local office for tallying.
• No campaign literature will be mailed with the election materials or posted on bulletin boards belonging to the Local.
• The Local's office equipment will not be made available to any candidates, except the Local will provide the addresses only on the Post Office ready envelopes.
• Nothing in these rules precludes any candidate from handbilling, or any other campaigning in the legal manner.
• In event a nominee is not present at the time of nominations the Election Chairperson must verify, in writing, that the nominee will accept the nomination.
• Write-in nominations on the ballot will not be accepted.
• Nominees will be listed on the ballot by order of a lottery held by the Election Committee.
• Candidates and observers will be permitted to observe all functions of the Election Committee in regards to the elections
• In elections where there is only one nomination for an office, the Election Committee shall cast a unanimous vote for that nominee.
• The Election Committee shall notify the membership of the results of elections via newsletters or bulletin board reports.
